We Got Another One!

Last night after we got home from Paul and Laura's,(read below) Ryan got a text message on her cell phone asking her to call the coach from So. Miss. When Ryan called her the coach said, "Ryan we want you to be a Golden Eagle!" Another one! We're going to take her to their camp this summer to get a look at their facility. In the meantime we're doing a little research. We're checking out the teams' rosters of all the schools recruiting her to see who will be on the team her freshman year and who they're recruiting as freshman THIS fall. Ryan doesn't want to get in a situation where she'll be on the bench behind older players in her position. I don't think she'll be sitting the bench much because she feels like she can earn her spot, and the coaches we've talked to do too.

b39.jpg
She looks kinda manly here, doesn't she? That's pretty scary! A girl that is 6'2 is already worried about looking masculine but maybe it's not so bad while she's in uniform! LOL She's going to be so pissed when she sees this post. HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA

Walk On The Wild Side... or not

Well, I've been awake for about 2 1/2hrs this morning because Craig woke me up as he was leaving for the country club to play golf. I'm just going to get the little bit of housecleaning done that I need to and then... who knows?

It's been an uneventful weekend for the most part. We went to Craig's ex-wife's baby's christening thing yesterday. Well, we didn't go to the service but we did go to their house afterward. I guess most people would think it's strange but now that there isn't any fighting going on (for the last couple of years for the most part) we all get along well. Taking that into consideration, we thought it was nice that they invited us so we went. Plus, Ryan's been bugging me to take her over there to see the baby.

Not too surprisingly, Kyra didn't go with us. Craig was VERY upset that she can't do a simple thing, just a nice gesture, and just show up. I mean, if nothing else she should want to see her sister but she doesn't. Ryan and I were at T@rget the other day and she saw a bib that said, "I love my big sister" and said I should get that and give it as a gift from Kyra. I got it, but I didn't lie and say its from Kyra. Maybe that's wrong... I don't know. I don't lie, so it probably would have shown on my face. I just told her that it might make her cry so maybe she didn't want to open that one until everyone was gone.

We had a really nice time, believe it or not. Their baby is so cute. The atmosphere was comfortable and their friends very nice. I didn't tell Craig about it until Wednesday so he was really nervous and didn't want to go (can't blame the guy for that) but I told him that I really wanted him to. All in all, good day.

So today it's back to cleaning and all that kind of thing. It's been so much easier to do it (and WANT to do it) for about the last 6 months because the cats are gone. They stunk so bad and I gave up trying to get that smell out of my house, but getting rid of them and then getting new furniture did the trick so I'm back on track. My house is clean, it SMELLS clean and that's enough for me!

This Is SOOO Politically Incorrect

... but I still need to post this. My great uncle sent me an email today and this is what it said...

Well, it appears our African-American friends have found yet something else to be pissed about. A black congresswoman reportedly complained that the names of hurricanes are all Caucasian sounding names. She would prefer some names that reflect African-American culture, such as Chamiqua, Tanisha, Woeisha, Shaqueal, and Jamal.

She would also like the weather reports to be broadcast in language that street people can understand because one of the problems in New Orleans is that regular folks couldn't understand the seriousness of the situation due to the racially biased language of the weather report.

I can hear it now:

A Houston weatherman says:

"Wazzup, mutha-fukkas! Hehr-i-cane Chamiqua be headin' fo' yo ass like Leroy on a crotch rocket! Bitch be a category fo'! So grab yo' chirren, yo'Ho, be leavin yo crib, and head fo' da nearest guv'ment office fo yo FREE shit!"

In light of all the racially charged discussions of late, I probably shouldn't. But my A.D.D. kicked in and I just can't stop myself!!

American Idol

Oh, Josh Groban just sang. Of course, I cried. Not just because he sang (though it is truly magnificent) but the stories they showed between all the acts... utterly heartbreaking.

We Have Cows!!

Craig loves that line from Twister.

Well, we had some twisters of our own today. I heard the sirens go off so I decided to go out and look at the clouds to see what was going on. I mean, I knew what was going on but I wanted to see it.

I stepped out of the garage to look back over our house and we definitely had a wall cloud, but I couldn't see anything else. Turns out, the tornado touched down about a mile from my house. Cool, or at least I think so while there are no reports of injury or loss of life. Always cool until you hear the bad news. Hopefully, there won't be any.

But, since there is wind shearing out at DFW Airport and many flights have already been cancelled I'm thinking Craig isn't going to make it in tonight. DFW is ULTRA sensitive to wind shear since the Delta crash here back in 85. I feel bad for Craig because his last couple of flights have been delayed, but then there is that part that doesn't feel so bad for him SINCE HE ALWAYS GETS UPGRADED TO FIRST CLASS. Always, always. Disgusting.

The Eyes Say It All

Today has been one of those lazy days. I have those quite often, in case you don't notice.

The girls are out of school so we went shopping, of course. Then it was off to the eye doctor for me and Ryan. We just see an optometrist. Kyra has to see an opthamologist because she has medical reasons for not seeing well while Ryan and I both just have astigmatism. My prescription increased and he even asked me if I wanted old people glasses bifocals. Uh, no thanks. So I went with the single vision glasses. I did that last time, too, and wore the glasses like once or twice and gave up because they sucked. I'm not expecting much better this time.

So Kyra goes in to see her doctor on Friday. I'm more than a little concerned because the vision in her right eye is falling off significantly each year and last year she was almost legally blind in that eye. She says she can't even distinguish numbers at all on her oversized digital clock without her glasses. I don't mean that she can't tell which number it IS, I mean that she can't even tell if it's a letter, number or a symbol... anything. The right eye's optical nerve didn't develop all the way (secondary to the left-hemiplegia) but the hemiplegia effects the MUSCLES of the left eye, so she got jacked in that category, too. Poor kid. The more she grows the more obvious her condition becomes. The left side of her body is significantly smaller than the right, even when you're just looking at her face. Her arm, hand, leg and foot are smaller/shorter on the left (the arm and foot are smaller due to decreased weight bearing).

The doctors told us back when she was 5 or 6 that many of the things wouldn't change with her until she became conscious of other kids teasing her. I guess that would have worked if she noticed other people, but she is SO socially displaced that she just doesn't notice much about people unless you point it out to her. She's going to be a freshman next year and I really worry about her. The things the kids already say to her are atrocious but thankfully she doesn't know what alot of it means. She is SO book smart but as with many, she has a serious lack of common sense or street smarts. I guess only time will tell.

Exciting News

I probably should pay more attention to my husband's emails, but I get so used to him sending them to me regarding HIS travel that I missed the last one regarding OUR travel. I'm SO excited.

So, I already knew about he pro-am thing for the Colonia! Golf tournament in May, and have been planning my wardrobe needs. The president of Craig's company plays in it too so his wife is there and I've met her through that. It's a big deal because Craig's company is HUGE and there are only 3 of them that join the pres and vice president out there.

But Craig told me yesterday (actually, he told me sometime last week in an email I didn't read because it only looked like travel info and he always prints me an itinerary before he leaves) that he has been invited to the CVS Charity Classic in June. (Craig doesn't work for CVS. The architectural and engineering firm he works for does) So, even though I can't really stand golf-blech- I'm really excited about going to Rhode Island (Woonsocket, I think he said) for this because of what it means for him.

I'm also excited about the shopping this implies for me! YAY!!! I know this suprises everyone who knows me, but I will indeed be doing some intensive retail therapy as I plan my wardrobe needs. This is a FANTASTIC opportunity to buy more shoes, my real (not-so-secret) passion! Woot!

What's Wrong With This Picture

April 07.jpg

What's wrong with it- is that I SHOULD BE IN THAT BED!!!!!

Instead, it's just Woody, though he sort of matches the blanket on the bed. You can really only see his eyes and teeth unless you look closely.

I guess I'll give sleeping another try.

Finally Something Accomplished!

We've had a banner day in the Rush home. I'm not sure this is really where I live and with whom because it's NEVER been this easy.

Last night I told everyone that they were to be out of bed by 10am (big deal here, trust me) and ready to work by 11am. So I woke up about 9:45 and laid there until 10, at which time Craig took me to Star&ucks for coffee and a lemon crumb bar (Oh, SO good!!).

When we got home the girls had already started cleaning (Austin still in bed) so Craig and I started on our room/office. In less than an hour, with team work, we are done! Oh sure, for all of you who say that its easier to clean a house when you have more people, you always forget to factor IN the mess those very same people make. Especially teenagers, and I've got three of them. I won't pull an A!ec Baldwin and call them pigs, but, well.... yeah, nevermind.

By the way, THIS is what was going on with the pooches in my bedroom while WE cleaned... You can ever see the vacuum cleaner in the picture!

(Wo)Man's Best Friend

Today is the anniversary of the day I was forced to put my dog down. I was devastated because I'd had her for 14 years (almost to the day). I'd gotten her one month after I got married to The Asshole) and she was VERY much my baby. She was a Chow/Collie mix and was so disciplined and really just never gave me a single milisecond of trouble. I could always just lay her leash down and she'd just sit right beside me, no matter what was going on around us. She'd go NUTS if a man came into the house, though. I don't think she'd have bitten anyone, but it scared them all enough to not even come in until she was put away in another room. But her arthritis was so bad that even the R!madyl wasn't working anymore. That loss still hurts today. Alot.

Scruff.jpg Scruff... she was about a year old here.

I've got another one of these sad dates in June. I don't know why I choose to remember these dates, because they are still so painful to me. Whiskey's death is probably stuck in my head because of how horrible it all was.

April 19, 2007

Anniversary Schtuff

Monday will be 9 years since I got off a plane in Reno and met Craig. That day is so clear in my mind. Meeting on the internet made it easy to tell him everything (yes, really) because you never really believe you'll make eye contact. He was so nervous you could almost see him shaking (of course, that could be been the remnants of fear from driving through the mountains between No. California and Reno. It snowed like a sonofabitch so he had to get snow chains- then they closed the pass less than an hour after he came through).

We spent the first two nights in Reno mostly because Craig likes to gamble. Then we drove back into No. California (Chico) and spent the next 2 nights there. It was such a nice trip and when he took me back to Reno to fly home we went to Lake Taho and spent the day there... simply breath taking since there was so much new snow (would have been lovely anyway).

So I wanted to do something nice and surprise him but I really can't think of anything to do. I thought of going to Reno again, but I think that would be better to do next year. I just don't know.

So, since I don't know, I guess its nothing. Maybe not spending any money is gift enough for him. He'd REALLY love it if I didn't shop.

So, voila!

April 18, 2007

I Hate Wednesdays

Craig is out of town until Friday... I've always hated when he travels but maybe this time it's better that he's not here. I'm in a pretty deep funk and I have no ambitions about getting over it quickly.

Ok, so we've ALL thought for a LONG time that Sanjaya needed to go home but I couldn't help my heart from breaking for him when he cried. I don't know what it is about a guy with tears streaming down his face that totally destroys me, but it does.

I Am Not That Person...

who used xanax to control my panic disorders anymore. I SO learned to deal with it. But this weekend was so beyond stressful, worse than anything I've ever encountered, that it was easy to take one last night (with my ambien CR12.5) and my neurontin that quite honesly I wasn't sure I would wake up. I'm glad I DID, but not long after taking the first one last night (the big ass WHITE strong ones, not the little blur or orange ones) I got scared I may have put my life in jeopary. Not my idea of a good one. But it worked so I did it again this weekend and I'll do it again to night, just to get some sleep. I haven't slept more than two hours each night for almost a week and this may just save me.

Craig babies me and tried to take care of every single detail inthe house when I'm like this.

So, may post has flown out the window. I dont' remember what it was. I'm just glad my brain function was to get this far. Maybe I'll remember the rest of it, if there even was such, later

I Have A Crush

... on Jonathon Rhys Meyers! Oh MY, is he good looking!

I've had a fascination with history so I couldn't wait for The Tudors on
Showt!me when I first heard about it. They SAID they were going to portray Henry as a (easily) sexier man, and they certainly followed through with that! Let's face it, it can't be harder to portray him as sexier than in real life. I mean, for Pete's sake, he weighed over 350lbs!! Blech! He played E!vis, but I didn't see that. If I'd known a freakin' beautiful he was I would CERTAINLY have watched.

The mini-series is a 10 part show with the hopes of making it an ongoing show. They have my vote, 100%.

On a racing note: Yesterday, Jr got plowed from behind by Kyle Busch (the 2nd most hated man in Nascar. Maybe 3rd... Behind his brother Kurt and Jeff Gordon) who was going almost 50mph faster than him after Jr slowed down quickly when Tony Stewart went into a slow spin. His car was a disaster but it was still driveable (for a time). When the motor on his car finally broke he thought his day was done. Must to the astonishment of the entire racing nation, Jr ends up driving Kyle Busch's car because Kyle thought his car to be done, so he left the track!

Funniest question and answer of the day goes to Jr. Here's how it went;

Q: "What did the car drive like?"
A: "Like it was wrecked."

-- Dale Earnhardt Jr., on driving the No. 5 Chevy, the first time that Junior has piloted a Cup car other than the No. 8

This Bud's for you!

If You Happen To Be At TMS today...

... please tell my son not to stare are the girls' chests. Yes, I KNOW that frequent sign at the track says, "Show me your titties!" but that doesn't mean he has to paint it on his chest so that EVERYone sees it!! (Ah, don't bother. He'll do it anyway!)

In other news I'm having a bitch of a time keeping spam off this motherfuckingblog! I must have cleared off 75 comments today alone. I'm to the point I'm ready to shut it down to avoid it!

Sleepy Saturday

Craig and I have spent the entire day laying in our bed. Sure, we've gotten up for the essential; bathroom breaks, oreos and Dr. Pepper. Oh yeah, I once got up to go look for the home telephone!

I've fallen asleep a couple times, Craig has once. Mostly I've been watching episodes of Body of Evidence and Craig has been designing one of the ENDLESS CVS pharmac!es.

Kyra didn't feel well so she's been laying around, too. Austin is out at the speedway for the race tomorrow (he wants to see TITTIES in the camp grounds so he's out there for the night with Eric. Ryan is in Virginia with her basketball team so we don't have to feel guilty for laying around. I even made sure the dog food was down early so if we fell asleep they'd be taken care of and then come curl up with momma... shoving daddy clear to the other side!! LOL

We've watched a few old episodes of ANTM and Craig is appreciative of his new outlook on fashion modeling, if he ever has need to utilize it.

Ryan told me to put another picture of her on here to prove to her that I was thinking of her while she was gone, so here's one...

I Don't Know What To Say...

First, let me tell you that I have gotten SO many emails regarding the picture that is two posts down (Ryan palming the ball). She looks really bitchy in that picture, don'tcha think?

I've had a couple of days to think this through. I'm not sure how to react to my daughter but my first instinct is... to cry. Here's what happened.

On the way home from Austin last Friday, we stopped to eat at Craker Barre! and while we were in the little shopping area waiting to be seated. We were laughing and cutting up when Ryan threw her arms around me and said, "Mom, you're my best friend!" I was floored! See, I was always of the school of thought that it is NOT my job to be my childrens' friend. It is my job to raise them in such a manner that we would be friends in their adulthood. I was really troubled somewhat until it dawned on me that she is only months away from her 18th birthday! I can't believe my BABY is al(lmost) grown up. When did that happen?

I'm reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally uncomfortable with her going to Virginia by herself (with the team) this weekend. Craig is taking her to the airport at the ass-crack of dawn tomorrow morning. I refuse to... because I'll cry. Yeah, yeah... I know she'll be home Sunday, but still!

Ryan left for her track meet this morning, but not before we had a long talk about basketball. I think she's leaning toward the University of North Texas. It's caught us a little off guard but to be honest, I'm happy about it. All the big schools sound pretty nice, but she likes the idea of being close to home and she REALLY likes she coaches at UNT. Coach Dziuk has built a nice rapport with Ryan and I think overall that's where she'll be happiest. Plus, I think Ryan is ready to get it all over with so that she's not spending her last summer before heading into her senior year playing basketball. If she signs at UNT or any of the larger schools they want them to come down and go to summer school and let them get ahead and get used to what needs to be done everyday. I'm half tempted to register and go to classes with her at first. I need to go to school anyway, so I'm gonna talk to her about that today. We've joked about it before but she might not like it if I really did it! We shall see

baller9.jpg

She got her prom pictures in yesterday and they are really pretty! I'll post that later

April 10, 2007

Boooo Yahhhhhhh

We got the first pictures taken of Ryan Saturday morning back today. They are AMAZING! I'm going to post only this one RIGHT NOW because we're SO pumped about all the calls from the universities. It's all so exciting and we thought she'd made up her mind but when Vanderbilt told her she was their top prospect, we had to do some back pedaling. (I was REALLY trying to stay out of it until THAT phone call came last night. See previous post)

palm1.jpg
For the record, this picture isn't a trick. She really did palm the ball. Actually, she can palm them with both hands).

I could barely sleep last night because my mind was running laps!

The pictures Dony took of Ryan are AMAZING! He wants to know which ones we want touched up, but I WANT THEM ALL!!!

April 9, 2007

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
There is sheer excitement in this house right now! About an hour ago the coach from Vanderbilt University called Ryan! OMG I can't believe it! I mean, they've been recruting her for over a year but STILL! This is crazy! Vanderbilt is #7 on the Team RPI list. They asked her if she was ready to play at a high D1 school. I expected her to sort of give a bague answer because she gets embarrassed, but she answered, "Yes ma'am!"
I mean, SERIOUSLY, they are #7 people. #7!!!! Woooooooohoooooo!

Easter weekend 041.jpg

Craig damn near had a heart attack when he answered the phone and heard who it was. This college deal is really getting complicated, but it is SO nice to not only get letters from the universities (she's now got over a thousand) but the universities are now calling and making this a real situation! I love it!

April 8, 2007

Easter Sunday...

... and I'm just hanging out. I don't feel like doing anything! I was going through some of my pictures and found this one. For some reason it wasn't with all my other pictures, but I'm sort of glad because I haven't gone back to look at those pictures in a while. Austin and Ryan are 25 months apart, so he was about 2 1/2 and she was about 5 months old. They look SO little here! They were both wayyyyyyy off the growth charts when they were little so they probably weren't really as little as they seem. Still, seems like a hundred years ago!
physics.jpg
This coming weekend, we're sending Ryan off by herself to Virginia to play with her team in the Boo Williams Nike Nationals. I'm a little nervous about it but one coach and a couple other girls are on the flight, the rest going out the day before but Ryan CAN'T go out the day before because of her District Track Meet. This track meet will determine if she goes any further (i.e. Regionals and State track meet) so she has to be there. If the high jumping isn't done on Thursday her coach has to request a time on Thursday for Ryan to jump, BY HER SELF and that would mean not knowing her place until after all the others jump on Friday. So, it's another busy week for us.

Happy Easter!

April 7, 2007

Is This Really April?

I have to say, this weekend is SURELY a first for us. It's snowing outside. In Texas. In April. Hhmmm!

Well yesterday was spent in Austin watching Ryan in Texas Relays. This is a HUGE track meet where high school students (the top 15 in the state) compete alongside college students at the University of Texas. Ryan was invited based on her high jump of 5ft 8in. She has been plagued by her ankle sprains this spring but she's still been winning her track meets. She did ok yesterday but didn't win. They opened at 5ft 3in and she just really struggled. Oh well!

This is her and her high jump coach, Coach Malone.
GreenMalone.jpg

This is her second jump. Great form except she didn't flip her feet
Easter weekend 039.jpg

Then today, the photographer who works for Craig spent 2 hours photographing her. She wore jeans and a tshirt, a cocktail dress, her basketball uniform and a graduation cap and gown for her different outfits.

Out of sheer boredom today Craig and I sat and actually colored easter eggs. We'd just spent alot of time away and wanted to spend a little time with her.
kyraegg.jpg

And now, I'm going to bed. It's past my bedtime!

April 5, 2007

I Didn't Expect This...

I guess we forgot about the "open period" for colleges that started today. I'm not sure how, but we did. The phone ringing off the wall was a dead giveaway.

See, today is the first day of the year that college coaches can call you. Any other time they just text, email or ask us to call them. But today is THE day. This is the day that they all start letting you know that their offer of a scholarship is on the table and yours to take... if you want it.

We thought there was pressure before, but now it is FOR REAL. Very exciting and very stressful. I love it!

So far, four college head coaches and one assistant coach have called. (Boston College, Kansas State, SMU, UNT, and University of New Mexico). Ryan has been caught completely off guard by this and she looks like her smile goes from ear to ear. WE were caught off guard by Kansas State calling. We thought they had sort of lost interest in Ryan even though they were still sending letters.

At this rate, I think she'll commit to one of the colleges much sooner than we expected her to! YAY!!

We are headed to Austin tomorrow to watch her high jump in Texas Relays. She qualified for this event for the first time EVER. This is a massive track meet where the qualfiers for each event are the top fifteen in the state regardless of the size of their school (i.e. 2A, 3A, 4A or 5A) Ryan is tied for the top jump in the State of Texas. She says she doesn't think she'll do well in this event, which will obviously mean she won't since that's what she's planning. Oh well.

She has to come home with us instead of staying down there with the team because she's got a photo session Saturday morning. A photographer has asked for Ryan to pose for him because he's opening up his own studio and needs pictures. In return, he's doing Ryan's senior pictures. Can't beat that! Austin's senior pics cost us more than $400 for very few pictures, so we're VERY happy!

In celebration of the calls we're getting I've decided to post this. This picture was in the Star Telegram. We always make fun of the faces she makes while shooting because they are so outrageous. Oh well, it's working!

I've seen Foreigner, Journey, Styx, Ted Nugent, Loverboy, and a billion others)

* What’s the worst band you’ve ever seen in concert? Styx, without a doubt. They were TERRIBLE

* What band do you love musically but hate the members of? Is that possible?

* What is the most musically involved you have ever been? Singing in a contest (I won!!) in a bar

* What show are you looking forward to? I don't have time to look forward to ANY show. Ryan's team starts their Nike and Addidas circuit next week and we hate to miss any of the games, especially since this is her last summer of it!

* What is your favorite band shirt? I still have my Loverboy T-shirt from the concert of my Sophomore year (1983!!!!)

* What musician would you like to hang out with for a day? Easy, Gene Simmons. He's up for ANYTHING!

* Did you know that filling out this meme makes you a music geek? My husband says that I am anyway, so I guess it's no surprise

* What is your favorite movie soundtrack? Without a doubt its Grease. If not that, then Pretty Woman

* Who is your favorite artist who is much better live than on a recording? Michael Jackson was amazing. He was only a little bit of a freak when I saw him in '88

* Do you have a hidden desire to be a popular musician? No way

* Have you ever used drugs to enhance the music experience? Psssht.

* What was the last song you heard that gave you a chill? My Immortal by Evanesence. It happens every time I hear it.

* Where would you be without music? Miserable. My husband says he can tell my mood by what music I'm listening to. I guess I use the music to say what I can't.

That's all folks!

She's Not Gonna Like It

It may seem petty to alot of people but to Ryan, it's not such a small thing. Her letter jacket is VERY crowded and she had specific requests regarding her new patches and where to put them. The place that does it didn't follow her instructions at all.

It all started back in 2005 when she made Varsity for volleyball, basketball AND track as a Freshman. We really had no idea she'd win so many awards, so we put her graduating year on the "basketball" sleeve and the Eagle patch on the "volleyball" sleeve (good thing she has long arms!)...
RyanDefense.jpg

... leaving only the back, under her nickname, for track. If we had left off those two patches (which EVERYONE puts on their jacket) we'd probably sneak in under the wire and not crowd the jacket.

Then, in November when I went to order her patches from last year, her Sophomore year (for basketball and track- I'd already gotten her volleyball patches earlier in the year). Her sleeves already had four patches on each side and had two track patches on the back. Well, she needed her All District patches from last year and her All Region Team and Regional Semifinalist patches for basketball and the District Champ patch, New CHS record patch and her State patch from track. (The State patch is BY FAR the most important to her because you only get that if you compete in the State meet... she took 4th. I'd say making the All Region team for basketball this year would come in 2nd). They needed to be done a certain way in order to be able to get her track patches for this (her junior) year and any patches she earns next year on the jacket.

This is how it ended up.

So while it looks ok to me, she's not going to like it at all. But, too bad. It is what it is. I'm very proud of her accomplishments (they've earned her a college scholarship!) and I'm glad that we've put them on her jacket.

Now, we just need her to decide where she's going and commit!!

Another Manic Monday?

Nope, just another SLEEPY Monday.

I'm not excited about today at all. My allergies are really bothering me and I just don't feel well at all. I can NOT shake this headache, though it doesn't feel like my typical migraine (I've had it for almost a week now). Ryan isn't feeling too good either. She's taken her medicine for migraine (she has them more frequently than me, but the medicine helps her) but is going to try and go to school for at LEAST first period (English) so she doesn't get behind. I'd imagine she'll be calling me as soon as that class is over because she has blow off classes the rest of the day (ASL 2, tech systems and athletics). ::sigh:: She is definitely my child.

Well, yesterdays game turned out pretty much like I thought. After her embarrassing display of self absorbance (see previous post), Brooklyn was allowed to start and play MOST of the game. I really couldn't believe it, but she put on an offensive show of complete dominance. It was really fun to witness it, and as long as you didn't think about what she did yesterday it was ok. Ryan played well and is moving on the court like her ankle isn't bothering her at all. She complained all day of not feeling well, but I chalked it up to behind tired from coming in so late after prom.

This was yesterday coming home from the tournament- and knowing what I know now, maybe she wasn't being shady at all!
