Basketball Banquet

Last night Craig was online and spotted an article from the Ft Worth Star Telegram where they put the top players in the state on their "super teams." Ryan made the 2nd team, coming in 4th in the state in her position. Here is the article. There is another article on the area track and field leaders and they show Ryan leading with her 5' 10" jump here.

Well, after putting in Idontknowhowmany hours to get the stuff for the banquet ready, a storm blew in just after the senior stuff was being done and the athletic director came running in telling everyone to leave because a storm was RIGHT THERE and the tornado sirens were blaring.

They got all the girls out of there and we sent Ryan and Kyra home in Craig's car, but us and two other sets of parents stayed there to clean it all up. As we were trying to get out of there MASSIVE hail hit and just beat the shit out of my truck. Within minutes, the wayer was up over the curb on Main St. The tornado sirens stayed on for quite some time, but finally it all died down. Whatever. I haven't gone outside to see how much damage is on my truck, but truthfully I just can't believe the windows aren't broken out! The hail was hitting SO hard!

Kyra was called up and given an award for being a great manager. She looked so cute last night and seemed to be having fun. She was a little quiet, but not withdrawn like she normally is around most of the girls. I think she's going to be a manager again next year because she seemed to really like being a part of the team. I hope she does it... I think it helps her step out of her comfort zone and I think it's helping her learn to socialize better.

Anyway, here are the awards given to Ryan last night- Offensive MVP district 8-4A, All Region Team, All State Team, she got the awards for being leading scorer on her team, leading rebounder and highest free throw precentage. After every game, the coach has the girl with the most rebounds, the most assists and the highest free throw precentage sign a ball and at the end of the season the girls with the most signatures on each ball win it, so those two awards for her were the balls. May not sound like much but she's always just won the rebounding ball and she set her sights on winning two of them this year.

Then we came home. All I can really say about this is DRAMA. OMG she pissed me off. I don't know how the hell she can swing so rapdily between everything is fanfuckingtastic to raging lunatic. Good lord, medication is in order.
