KG's Hideaway

Update: Forgot to brag on my niece. She is not quite 20mos old and knows her ABC's, says (in the cutest voice EVER) Auntie, Ryan (which sounds like WYYYYYYYYYan) sometimes she just says Ry-Ry, princess, uncle craig (which sounds like unnnnnng keg) dog (bog) shooooo-weeeeeeeee, pa-pa, I knowwwwwwwwwwwww. I seriously adore this kid and I am amazed at the absolute adoration between her and Craig. He treats her like gold and she just eats it up! Love it!

Also, bought a new digital video camera and it's almost as small as my littlest digital camera. I can't believe it. THe quality isn't fantastic, but its good and the camera wasn't expensive at all. Will post video once I figure out how.
Well yesterday proved to be an interesting day. We were bored out of our MINDS so we went to watch a couple of Ryan's friends play in a basketball tournament. (We had the baby, too). Craig met us out there and right as we walked into the gym one of her old coaches from Team Texas asked if she was going to be around for the next 30mins-1hr. Sure, whenever. We assumed he was going to ask her to play for him during the spring and part of the summer. Most of the girls who have already signed will only play a few tournaments here and there to stay in basketball shape before heading off to school in the fall so we thought she'd agree to some tournaments and be done with it. I couldn't have been more wrong.

This coach works for a VERY prestigious private university in our area. VERY. (I'm not going to spill the name yet, gonna wait and see) and they've been talking about Ryan in their staff meetings for a couple of months now. The timing of this leads me to believe that the coach of this school saw Ryan when her school team played his daughter's school team this year because Ryan went OFF on them during both games. Anyway, they know the story with UNT and explained what they want. This coach wants Ryan to come play in the NCAA showcase tournament this weekend (after her trackmeet) because the big coach is coming to watch her and see how he thinks she'd fit in with his team. It's a little scary because Ryan hasn't even touched a ball in 5 weeks. 5weeks!?!?!?!?! Jeez, she's gotta get going because she's got the All State Game in less than 3 weeks.

So anyway, all the work that went into the UNT thing may totally go out the window but for this school, just to say your degree is from THIS COOL UNIVERSITY (get it?) is HUGE and she'd gladly accept it. Funny thing is, she got her final acceptance letter from UNT yesterday.

In other news, I feel like shit. I'm going to soak in the tub and go to bed. Hair appointment tomorrow, thank GOD.
