Not Too Bad
I'm three days post surgery and feel pretty frickin' good. I mean, I have plenty of pain but its not intolerable even when I don't take my pain meds. My incision is like 8 inches long though!! It's kind of a weird deal because they went through the old incision from my stomach surgery so its not like I have ANOTHER scar... its just that I was expecting it to be smaller.
It felt so good to wake up (at 3:45am!!!! WTF?) and take a damn shower! I haven't been able to get wet since my surgery so I was trying to make due with a sponge bath. I am rather obsessive when it comes to showering so this was torture. I HAVE to shower before going to bed each night or I can't sleep. It drives me up the wall. Blech.
Craig stayed home with me until today but he had to be in Phoenix for a meeting and then is turning around and flying right back home so I won't even be alone for one night. He takes good care of me. He has not been happy when I'm up out of bed doing ANYthing other than a trip to the ladies' room.
I'm going to try and make it through Ryan's event at the track meet today but I'm not making any promises. I woke up feeling pretty nauseous but I think that's from the Requlp (for restless leg syndrome). I don't want to push it too much today because of having to drive to Austin in the morning. If it rains enough today that they cancel the high jump in the district meet, that will mean that Ryan would have to jump tomorrow so she wouldn't be able to compete in Texas Relays. I'm not so sure that would be a bad thing right now.
It looks like Craig will be taking Ryan down to A&M on the 15th. He'll ask all the right questions and cover everything that needs to be covered and I can stay home and get stuff done around here. I don't know how I feel about A&M offering a full ride. I just don't know how all of that will work for her, but I guess we'll know soon enough.
I guess this is all I've got today. Pathetic, eh?

It takes time to get back on your feet after surgery! Take care.

Glad you're feeling good! Not being able to take a shower would make me nuts, too.
