KG's Hideaway

We were invited to the SMU game last night to meet the coaches and team. This school is a private school so we were worried that with this set back she'd be out of the running for a scholarship there. We were wrong again, thank God.

Southern Methodist University is a GREAT school academically and it'd be really good for her to have a backing from a degree there but to be honest she doesn't seem overly thrilled about it. She was more excited about UNT... wtf?

So I guess we're going to get her up to Oregon to visit Oregon State (from teh Big XII, and we've already visited Kansas State from the Big XII) and that will leave Vanderbilt (from the SEC) and Colorado (also from the Big XII). I think she's pretty much ruled out Arkansas (no clue why she doesn't want to go there) as well as most of the other schools that are recruitng her.

A scholarship into a school from the big conferences is obviously great but that doesn't appear to be a big deal to her right now. She wants to go to a place where she won't sit on the bench behind upper-classment for a couple of years and where she feels like she can make a difference to a team. It sounds like (to me, at least) that she is really looking at all facets of this.
