Well, it's officially that time of year. Normally, this signifies the start of something we LOVE, but this year I don't know how much I'm going to love it. The girls' varsity basketball team isn't something I'm excited about this year because I don't think they're going to be any good, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. I'm also a little worried about Ryan's foot as this will be the first basketball season since her foot surgery three months ago. She played volleyball on it and only complained here and there so long as the trainer padded and taped it. Basketball is much harder on the body than volleyball, though, so we won't really know until she gets going. ::sigh:: I'm a little afraid of getting my hopes up.

Thursday night is the volleyball banquet. They'll tell us then, I'm assuming, which girls made the All District team. She made it last year as a Freshman, but this was a strange year. We got all of her patches from last year for her letter jacket ordered. For Volleyball, she got "Freshman Letterman" and All District team." For basketball, she got "Freshman Letterman", "All District", Bi-District Champs" and Area Champs. Then for track, she got "Freshman Letterman" and "District Champs. We got the two volleyball patches and the freshman letterman patches for basketball done when we ordered her jacket last year, as well as the patch across the back of her letter jacket that says, "Li'l Green" (Austin was "Big Green") This "free" letter jacket has now cost us over $325, and this only covers all her freshman year and volleyball of her sophomore year. We didn't order anything else from this year because we didn't want to jinx her. By the time she graduates her jacket will be full, because the patches after this year will no longer fit on the sleeves... they're already full. We already had to have the track patches sewn on to the back of the jacket because they're really only designed to handle two sports (one on each sleeve). Oh well.
